ancient beliefs stroke new life

they are seen frequenting 

ponds & marshes 

rising, seeking a new mother 

known as soul carriers, 

Five mermaids join with each other 

and rise from the sea

something holy; occurring

in ecstasy, they emerge and rejoice 

as they touch each other and move skyward

now, Imagine that the sea has claimed your tears 

and the Sun is drying your eyes

this is an inner healing, 

and one that you deserve.
